Abstract The present study conducted on 10 chronic renal failure patients selected from Naser institute hospital on regular haemodialysis thrise weekly 4 hours eash using acetate dialysate. All patients were subjected to : full history and clinical examination. predialysis laboratory assessment of blood urea nitrogen (BUN), serum creatinine, sodium, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, albumin and hemoglobin. Serial assessment of ionized calcium, total calcium, phosphorus and parathyroid hormone at the start of haemodialysis session, 2 hours later and at the end of (4 hours) haemodialysis session. All patients were ordered to fir their dry weight, protein diet (about 0.8 – 1 gm/kg), and current medications. |
