Abstract
Degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis is a condition involving any type of narrowing of the spinal canal, nerve root canals, or tunnels of the intervertebral foramina. In this essay the anatomy and biomechanics of the lumbar spine, the pathology and the pathogenesis of the degenerative process, and how to diagnose the degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis, clinically and to proof it by investigations, all are discussed. also, explaining the methods of management starting by conservative treatment and ending by surgical intervention.
