Abstract Office automation is the field of business information technology that aims at designing and implementing office information systems from both the perspectives of office organization and information technology. An office information system (OIS) is an automated information system specifically designed for improving the effectiveness and the efficiency of the execution of typical office tasks. Office Automation is a part of the technological development and has always had benefits to organizations in general. It also has even more indispensable ones to the banking system in particular, e.g. the introduction of Credit & Debit Cards, Smart Cards, Automated Clearing House (ACH) online transfers and The Society for Worldwide Inter-Bank Financial Telecommunications (SWIFT) the largest international interbank payment network. This study intends to use such Office Automation indispensable benefits on the Central Bank of Egypt, Cheques Collecting Department which is run manually with a long and tedious document cycle. This study attempts to develop an office automation system that would save time, effort, money, paper consumption and lead to improved effectiveness and efficiency. All system forms are designed on Microsoft Access and connected together with Visual Basic Application. |
