Abstract The development of plant transformation techniques during the last two decades has made it possible to improve economical crop plants by introducing into them cloned gene(s). The most commonly used method makes use of the ability of the soil Agrobacterium tumefaciens to deliver desired gene(s) to the plant genome. Biolistic bombardment represents another useful technique for successful delivery and functional integration of gene(s) of interest into the plant genome. |
