المستخلص Objective: To evaluate the results and cost-effectiveness of a clomiphene citrate/hMG/antagonist protocol versus a standard long agonist/hMG protocol Participants and methods: Group (1):15 participant received CC [200 mg/day/5 days starting day (2)], HP-FSH [150-225 IU/day starting day (6)] and Cetrorelix [0.25 mg/day when leading follicle reach 14 mm]. Group (2) received midluteal decapeptyl 0.1 mg day(20) then HP-FSH 225 IU/day was added. Results and conclusion: Clinical pregnancy was observed in 4(26.7%) from group (1) at a mean cost +/_ SD of 1291+/_ 217 LE versus 6(40%) from group (2) at mean cost 2392+/_345 LE, the difference was not statistically significant for pregnancies(P =0.439) and was significant for costs(P<0.05), still we consider our study protocol is not cost-effective based on pregnancy rates as the statistical evaluation may be affected by the small sample size. |
