Abstract
This study is conducted to gain a complete understanding of the possibility of using the cod test as a substitute for the bod test and to establish a reliable correlation factor between the results of the two tests. to achieve these goals, more than 200 experiments Are conducted on 32 samples of raw, primary and final effluent sewage. a correlation factor of 0.86 is obtained for the equation of The straight line indicating that there is a Good association between the variables at one percent level of significance. the ultimate oxygen demand is estimated by the moments Method of moore ET AL. from the bod progression curve of the sample.
